When Countess von Doz decided to design her fragrance she sought out an old friend, Baron Paul Pourbaix, great nephew of the last Empress of China, who led her to the technical brilliant young perfumeur, Laurent Bruyère at International Fragrance and Flavors.

Working hands on in Paris with IFF, the Countess created a perfume so outstanding that many of the legendary perfumeurs said of this fragrance "its the new classic."
